Configuring Appointment Request Settings in the Practice Dashboard

Specific fields can be customized for appointment requests in the app. Once a change is saved, it's instantly updated in the mobile app.

To make changes from your practice dashboard:

Settings > Appointments > Request Preferences

What you should know about configuring your appointment request settings

  1. Walk-in clinics can remove the feature, if needed.
  2. Appointment times can be displayed in the app.
  3. Appointment requests cannot be submitted for the same day—this is a default setting. If the user tries to select the same day, they will be prompted to call your practice instead. If you would like to allow same-day booking, this setting can be disabled in the practice dashboard under Settings.
  4. If your practice is using another reminder service, push notification reminders for upcoming appointments can be disabled.
  5. An email can be triggered each time an appointment request is made.
  6. You can decide whether or not to allow clients to cancel appointments from the mobile app.
  7. You can customize the message that is delivered back to clients when an appointment time is proposed.
The default base proposal message requires confirmation within 2 hours, and this message is completely customizable. However regardless of the timeframe allowed, the request will not automatically expire and will need to be removed manually when the confirmation window has passed.
  1. You can set special hours for the days and times of day that clients can request appointments, and automatically block off a specific number of days to avoid short-term appointment requests.
  1. Highly customizable blackout settings are available for specific days or a range of days, or to enable or disable specific times of days on one specific day.
Use these blackout settings for holidays, or days when you are closing early or closing for the morning due to staff meetings.
  1. You can include the types of appointments offered and edit the associated emoji.
  2. You can customize the doctors listed for selection in the app from your practice dashboard:
  1. For practices with multiple locations, practice locations can be displayed. Please call us for assistance with this setting.
Real-time direct-appointment booking can be configured to replace the Appointment Request feature with our integration with Vetstoria, Next In Line, and Rapport. Subscription to their service is required.
